How It Works

This calculator uses the future value formula for compound interest with regular contributions:

FV = P(1 + r/n)^(nt) + PMT x [((1 + r/n)^(nt) - 1) / (r/n)]

  • FV = Future value of the investment
  • P = Initial investment (principal)
  • PMT = Monthly contribution
  • r = Annual interest rate (decimal)
  • n = Number of compounding periods per year (12 for monthly)
  • t = Number of years

The calculator compounds returns monthly. Each month, your contribution is added and then interest is applied on the full balance, capturing the power of compound growth over time.
